It can be a challenge to get them all to training as well as spending quality time playing with them, in addition to juggling life's other demands. The next best thing to spending my time with them, is to get Kathy over to play with them a couple of times a week. You can tell when Kathy doesn't come round - they are bored, obnoxious and a bit depressed. After a visit from Kathy, they are bouncy, outgoing and keen to work. It's been a real advantage having Kathy play with them - they are exercised, socialised and pampered. I don't have to feel guilty if I don't get to play with them as much, and they are more focused on working with me at training. The other advantage is that I know I've got someone who they adore, who can look after them if I need to go away who is also able to keep an eye on the house. When first mentioning that I was going to get a pet sitter to spend quality time with the dogs a couple of times a week, my friends and training colleagues were sceptical.
